'96 Vectra B - do not have X17DT engine as option

I tried to check a vectra b, X17DT engine. When selecting engine management, I did not have this engine as option (I had only gas engines there). I checked in TIS, X17DT was installed on '96 Vectra B.

hello i jus resgister here, i have same engine (x17td) on a vectra from 01.1996 , i understand from localy forum clubopel.com cuz this vectra do not have an engine control unit , is true or not ? i have an obd conector on my car what can a see on this conector what can i do with him ? thanks

Yes, it's simle diesel engine. No ecu. The only Control unit is for glow plugs but it haven't diagnostic possibility.
Thise engine have immobiliser installed in the fuel pump. The obd connector can be used in such car for diagnostic of other systems such as:
ABS, Immo, cassete/cd player, central locking, board computer, instruments etc.
