52: Reprogram Program Memory - Present

Only CAR 300/CAR 400/CCR 600/CAR 2003/CAR 2004/CCR 2006 :

EEPROM contains only pre-programming (EEPROM not programmed by Opel)
Effect:

After turning on the radio, "PROGRAM" appears in the info display for 3 s .
Only CDR 500/CDR 2005 :

EEPROM contains only pre-programming (EEPROM not programmed by Opel)
Above condition must be fulfilled for at least 1 s.

Can someone explain what this means please on a 2001 Vectra B with CDR-500? Thanks in advance

It means, that the eeprom is not programmed (virgin). To make it working the device has to be programmed with some corresponding equipment (Tech2).

Thanks for the reply. The CDR-500 is working fine, so no problems - was just wondering about the error :)

Probably the eeprom's checksum is incorrect, that is it.
