I have a 1998 Holden Vectra 2.2 litre (similar to Vauxhall and Opel). I have replaced the radio/cassette that came with it with a radio/CD player, but now I want to unlock the original unit. The dealer gave me the security code, but the unit had been replaced before I got the car so the code is not for the one I have.
So the question is can my AutoScanner read the security code of the radio? Is it in one of the Eprom dumps?

What model of R/C do you have?
-
Oh yes, I forgot that - it's a Blaupunkt 420 (I think these are standard equipment on Holden Vectras). If I select the CAR300 option it reads it. Is it in there? (the software number?)?
-
I had no chance to play with that model 420... But from my personal experinence - the bytes in EEPROM, containing the security code, are protected from reading over diagnostics.
-
I found that AutoScanner Opel can read the CDR500 eeprom is that of TMC that contains the security code?
-
As far as I know - no.
Can you publish it here to make sure?
-
You would be able to read only the part of memory which doesn't content your code.
