No response from ECU *error?*
« on: February 20, 2014, 15:12:29 »
Hi there mate/mates,

I just received my ELM 327 BT adapter, and tried to hook it up to my '99 Corsa B 1.4 16v.

I'm using my Samsung galaxy S1 with Android 4.2.2 software.

I can connect to the BT adapter, but when I try to go to fault codes, or livedata, I get the "no response from ECU"-error.

Could this be because I need to connect the no.3, 7, and 12 pins together?

If so, do I just pry open my ELM327 BT adapter, as it seems to be welded together.

And do I just solder a wire between 3-7 and then 7-12, will that be enough?

Cheers

Soren S - Denmark

BTW: I have started out using your lite version as of right now. But if BT adapter works fine, I'll surely get the paid version :)

In the app menu there is a Logging item. Make it enbabled, try to establish connection, and send log files, which can be found in the ScanMyOpel folder on the SD card.

Hi,

Actually, any interface with ELM v1.4 should work.
If you have any problems with connect, please send me logs.

Thanks.

Is there any more info regarding the joining of the 3 pins? I've been testing on a 99 Astra G with just a couple of small issues regarding correct live data for the AT and wondered if I needed to join the pins and if so after opening up one of the elms I use would the connection be 12-3 and 12-7 and not 3-7-12 connected all together

Joining 3 pins together is needed to cover all other ECUs on the car, as not all of them are connected to the pin 7.

Yes  I understand that, as I was trying the old type elm device that is shown on the board I hoped that doing that might resolve the AT live data issue saying my car is 6 cyl which my 2 newer elm also show, I will attempt to put some logs up, cheers

The live data issue is the app problem. Send me logs and detailed info.
