P1640 Quad Driver Module (QDM).
« on: October 25, 2007, 09:19:57 »
I scan my tigra x14xe and have this code that I do not know.
What it is?

I have with other code.

P0335 Incorrect RMP signal.
P0230 Fuel pomp relay voltage low.
P0400 Linear EGR System.
P1503 Imobilizer wrong signal.
P1405 Linear EGR position.

I read on the net that it would be the ECU, which is in default.

Hi,

QDM stands for Quad Driver Module. This is part on the engine control unit.

Usually, when you have this fault code, engine just runs fine, and check light is on.

This is a common fault with Multec engine controllers.

What you can do, is to repair, or replace ECM.

That's right. These module is internal part of engine control unit. If you have control unit with brown/ red sockets it means that QDM is removable part iside ECU and the problem may be in contact.
Oh sorry if you have codes in OBD2 format it means that control unit have red/white sockets and QDM is not removable part.
But first of all you need to fix the problem with crankshaft sensor and EGR because thise problems can be the reason of other fault codes/
The problem with crankshaft sensor may be result of mechanical problem in sensor installation or crankshaft pulse pick up wheel/

Good luck

Ps it is very important not to know only the codes of the faults but also the status of every fault (present not present)

Thank's all.
I replaced the ECU for the time being.
