2000 Astra-G Z18XE
« on: November 20, 2007, 11:52:36 »
Sorry if this isn't allowed here but i'm totally stuck at the moment. I was hoping to write a simple linux application to read sensor data from my Astra but I can't find any information on reading from the pre-OBDII cars. Does anyone know of any websites or information that would help me?

Many Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Actually, we already created the software for Opel diagnostics. I'm pretty sure, your Astra is covered too.
I do not know such site. The information you ask for is confidential, thus, I'm not sure you can find it in the net.

You need to look for KW2000 protocol description, if you need to get connected to engine ECM.

Regards,
Artur

Artur,

Thanks for your reply, my car is about 6 months too old to support OBDII, does the KW2000 protocol still apply?

Yes, 100%.
